its a incentive for members..reflects a member's activity in forum..contribution[starting threads,movies.songs etc]..so if members feel you done a good work then can give u reputation by clicking that silver colored balance icon on bottom left of ur each post/...thread... As reputation points increases ur rep power also increases ....u can see it by green to gold icons to ,brown stars,silver stars and then finally gold stars.... this increases ur reputation among forum members...
